Beauty: Shiseido Aqualabel Special Gel Cream Review

March 11, 2015 by Regina Chow 2 Comments

I’m always excited to try new skincare products, especially gel-based skincare products which glide on smoothly without any greasy after-feel. Shiseido’s Aqualabel Special Gel Cream, winner of Women’s Weekly “Best Beauty Buys 2014”, is one such product that I have been intending to review.

I finally took the tub of goodness out of its box and incorporated it into my skincare routine about 2 weeks ago, and I can safely say that it works well on my skin which is oily on the surface and dehydrated beneath.

What I love about Shiseido’s
Aqualabel Special Gel Cream is its velvety soft jelly-like texture which
feels featherlight on my skin and yet locks in moisture at the same
time.

Multi-tasking 5-in-1 Gel Cream

A multi-tasking 5 in 1 gel cream that contains a high concentration of collagen with double hyaluronic acid and can be used as a lotion (toner), emulsion, essence, cream and mask all at once, it gives you more bang for your buck than your average moisturizer in the market.

Powered by Aqualabel’s exclusive Aqua Synergy technology, the special gel cream penetrates deeper into your skin to deliver moisture and fight signs of aging, giving you dewy, supple and hydrated skin.

Pop it in the fridge to give your skin an extra pick-me-up in the mornings and use it as a sleeping mask at night (I do this once or twice a week) and on flights to keep your skin moisturized. A little goes a long way, and I believe this tub will last me for about 6 months at least.

Use it as a sleeping mask

To use it as a sleeping mask, pick up a 50 cent dollop of cream, apply it on to your face and let it sit for about 3 minutes before massaging it thoroughly into your skin. Head to bed when it’s fully absorbed and wake up to smooth, radiant and glowing skin in the morning.

All-in-one products like this special gel cream are just perfect for traveling and this gem of a skincare product is definitely heading overseas with me on my next flight out of the country!

Travel: Shopping Guide – Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

March 9, 2015 by Regina Chow 2 Comments
Hong Kong is one of my favourite cities for shopping because there are always new, interesting spots worth exploring regardless of the number of times you’ve stepped foot there. On my recent trip to Hong Kong last year with Yitian, we chose to stay in Sheung Wan, home to streets after streets of antiques, curiosities, vintage fashion, independent fashion labels and cafes.
Sheung Wan is like a maze with gems hidden in every nook and cranny, reminiscent of a less commercialized version of Venice. There are new discoveries down every alley, with pleasant surprises at every turn. Aside from shopping, the beautiful street art and wall murals also make excellent photography backdrops. Say hello to more OOTD shots!

In today’s post, shopping will take centerstage and you’ll find out what are some of the interesting knick knacks that can be found in this treasure trove of a precinct.
1. Antiques, Art and Vintage Collectibles
If you love antiques and collectible items, Sheung Wan is the place to be. You will find interesting second-hand Chinese memorabilia and other curiosities at the make-shift street stalls lining Upper Lascar Row (Cat Street).

If you prefer to visit actual art galleries and antique shops, head on to Hollywood Road (Antique Street), where you will be greeted by a variety of paintings, vases, statues, artworks and collectibles (some may be replicas) from a bygone era. If you’re thinking of sprucing up your home decor, be sure to check out these quaint little shops for some quirky finds.

2. Vintage Fashion

Taking the road less traveled has always been one of my mantras in life, and the same goes for my take on fashion. That is one of the reasons why I’ve always found vintage fashion appealing. Checking out vintage stores in Hong Kong may not have been on our cards, but it found its way into our itinerary thanks to some chance encounters.

On our way to breakfast one morning, we came across Select-18. It’s easy to mistake it for a hardware store, but don’t be fooled by its visage. Within the store lies an amazing selection of vintage accessories, bags, collectibles and eyewear.

I especially adore their collection of vintage miniature perfume bottle accessories. If you follow me on instagram (@reginachow_sg), you may have seen these gorgeous trinklets which I bought as gifts for my girlfriends (and myself too!).

Select-18

Shop A, G/F, Grandview Garden
18 Bridges Street, Central, Soho

Bang! Bang! 70s is another vintage store that we chanced upon as we walked down Aberdeen Street. Located on the second floor of a non-descript shophouse, you have to ring a bell before the gate opens to reveal a flight of stairs leading up to the store, which offers a wide variety of vintage designer apparel, bags, shoes and the likes.

3. Independent Fashion Stores

Aberdeen Street is where most of the independent fashion stores are located. We easily spent an entire afternoon just browsing through the multitude of fashion labels and trying on everything that they had to offer.

One of our favourite shops is Mushroom, where you’ll find intricate accessories, homeware and beautiful dried flowers with an unmistakable old-world charm. Stepping into the shop instantly transports you into a magical fairy-tale world where fairies, pixies and unicorns come alive.

I was particularly attracted to their exquisite selection of whimsical accessories inspired by Alice in Wonderland, folk lore and ballerinas. I felt like a child once again.

Mushroom has 3 branches in Hong Kong, namely in Aberdeen Street, New Town Plaza in Shatin and Millenium City 5 in Kwun Tong Road.

A row of multi-label fashion retailers can be found on the opposite side of Aberdeen Street. ABoutique, my new found favourite multi-label retailer introduced by a friend from Hong Kong, is literally just a hop and skip away.

ABoutique stocks an exclusive selection from designers such as Frame Denim, Alice by Temperly, Camilla & Marc, House of Holland, finderskeepers, keepsake the label, among others. These labels may be readily available at e-retailers such as Shopbop, Revolve Clothing and Net-a-porter, but being able to try on these labels at ABoutique makes such a difference.
I eventually walked away with two pairs of skinny jeans from Frame Denim, some of the comfiest jeans I own to date. In fact, they’re so comfortable, you’ll feel like you’re wearing next to nothing. I’m convinced that my wardrobe needs more of these!

ABoutique
G/F, 19 Aberdeen St, Central
Sheung Wan left such a deep impression on me and I would love to share every facet about this amazing place in time to come. If there are other shops in Sheung Wan that you would highly recommend, do let me know!

Fashion Fridays: Stylish Sudio Earphones

March 6, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments
I love music, but I love fashion too. The reason why I used ‘but’ instead of ‘and’ here is because as much as I love to listen to music, especially when I am on the go, finding a pair of stylish earphones with good sound quality is a tall order. It is difficult to have the best of both worlds and more often than not, I’ll end up heading out without my earphones so as not to compromise on style.

In today’s edition of Fashion Fridays, I will be sharing my recent experience with Sudio, a Swedish brand of earphones that truly understands how important it is to marry style with quality and comfort. I have always been a fan of Scandinavian design and Sudio’s elegant meets preppy designs are just perfect.

I wanted a pair of earphones that is compatible with all smartphones and devices, and Sudio’s TVÅ earphones are just what I needed.

Style Personified

. Truth be told, I have never felt so excited about unboxing gadgets until Sudio came along. Each item, from the earphones, the genuine leather case, to the manual, comes with a carefully labelled little box of its own. The packaging alone is bound to impress.

The genuine leather case and gold clip to keep dangling wires in place are such thoughtful add-ons too. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had problems searching for my earphones after I place them in my handbag. This nifty case is not only presentable, but it also solves all my problems too.

The Sudio TVÅ earphones come in four colours and I was particularly attracted to both the black and brown options. The black exudes an air of sophistication while the brown has a distinctive vintage preppy vibe.  I really adore the gold details and look, that gorgeous gold clip doubles up as an accessory too.

Its lightness and aesthetically pleasing
design are reasons why I keep it handy whenever I go out, because there always
those moments when you want to either view online vids amidst noisy crowds
or indulge in your favourite music. With a stylish leather case, and
tangle-resistant flat cords, Sudio TVÅ is a darling to carry around.

Crisp and Well-balanced Sound Quality

Listening on the Sudio TVÅ is an absolute delight. Besides the crisp and
well-balanced sound quality, its lightweight construction and
ergonomical earbud design ensures that you wouldn’t experience any discomfort even
after long hours of listening.

In all honesty, Sudio’s
design and sound quality truly stand out in the crowd, even among the bigger boys.
Affordably priced at just slightly over S$60 (or 365 Swedish Kronas) with free international shipping included, the Sudio TVÅ would make a perfect gift, either for yourself or your loved ones.

BodyPerfect Slimming Treatment Review

March 3, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

Why am I endorsing slimming treatments when I’m already so slim? As slim as I may be, cellulite around my thighs and stomach is a problem that I can’t run away from.

Cellulite is the bane of most women, regardless of weight and size. You could be the slimmest and fittest woman around and still be plagued by cellulite. I’ve long heard about BodyPerfect and its award-winning treatments from SimplyHer magazine, hence my interest was piqued.

BodyPerfect provides a multi-modality slimming approach based on years of R&D for the most effective slimming solutions in the market. Many of their treatments are award-winning and backed by Singapore celebrities such as Constance Song, Joey Swee and ex-Singapore Idol contestant Olinda Cho.

Before
the actual treatment commenced, I was ushered to a consultation room to
fill up a questionnaire on my health condition and lifestyle habits.

A thorough body analysis based on my current height and weight was also done to give my consultant an in-depth understanding of what my ideal weight and fat percentage should be. BodyPerfect’s concept of slimming goes beyond weight loss measurement. Any dramatic weight loss from a single visit is usually attributed to just water loss. BodyPerfect’s treatments control fat cells by passively activating fat burn without exercise while retaining the body’s natural curves and contours. This is the reason why most clients who adhere to BodyPerfect’s treatment plans do not suffer from “yo-yo” weight fluctuations and stay satisfied with their results.

BodyPerfect is a pioneer in SpotReduction slimming. Many of us, despite not being overweight, have flabby or problematic areas that we wish to get rid of. The arms, hips and tummy are common problem areas.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for my consultant to conclude that I was underweight, but there were certain problem areas that I could do without. For a more detailed physical assessment, I was brought to the treatment room for a quick change of attire.

While I expressed
that my main concern was my tummy (I’ve lost my abs as I haven’t been
exercising as regularly as I should), my consultant expertly pointed out
that in comparison to my tummy, my upper thighs warrant more immediate
attention as they make my lower body look disproportionately larger. A look in the mirror was all it took to confirm that her assessment was entirely accurate.
After my body measurements were taken, I was introduced to my therapist who promptly began to work her magic.
The first step in SpotReduction is to blast fat cells away with LipoCavitation Technology. The machine is used in a circular motion on the area to be treated for about 15-20 minutes. There was no discomfort at all and it felt more like a gentle massage.

A stimulating massage was next on the cards to soften the fat cells and drain them away. Drifting off to slumberland proved challenging with all the kneading, squeezing and tapping as the therapist attempted to exorcize all the cellulite and banish them to oblivion. It was slightly painful but definitely tolerable.

At the end of the massage, my thighs immediately felt softer, signaling that it was time to burn off the broken down fat cells. I was covered in a thermal Infra-red ceramic wrapping system for about 20 minutes for fat burn to take place.
In the third and final step, BodyPerfect’s Fat Mobiliser System was then used to wrap around my upper thigh area. I was advised to stand up for the next 20 minutes for this part of the treatment to enhance the detox and drainage process as a result of fat burning.
The body wrap felt icy cold to the touch initially but within minutes, the unique formula that BodyPerfect uses in tandem with this treatment causes your body to start heating up to burn away the fats. This combination of hot and cold therapy purportedly helps with both inch and weight loss. I was also asked to increase my water intake and avoid soft drinks till the next day to aid in the detox process.

And now for the most important question. Did I see any results at all?
I’ll let my before and after measurements speak for themselves:

H refers to the upper thigh while M and L refer to the middle and lower thigh respectively. As you can see from the numbers above, I lost 1 inch on both my upper thighs instantaneously after just one session! Although
visible inch loss can be achieved in just one treatment, a series of
treatments is recommended for longer lasting results.
My hubby, who is my number one critique, also commented that my thighs looked slimmer, which made my legs look straighter as well. I am definitely impressed.

Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+

February 26, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

The Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ is proof that good things come in small packages. Visually, it stands out from the sea of smartphones with its slim, sleek and stunning exterior. The luxurious shade of Frosted Gold exudes style and sophistication, making it the perfect fashion accessory for style mavens.
Practically speaking, it is
incredibly light, handy, and is so slim that it fits into the tiniest
clutches.  At just 6.7mm, The GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ may be Samsung’s slimmest and
most stylish phone to date, but it also packs a punch thanks to its Octa Core Processor and 4G+ LTE
Cat 6 capability. Now, I can surf the internet and stream my favourite
dramas at a much faster speed without compromising on the chic factor.
Its Ultra Power Saving Mode is very useful too as I am able to extend my remaining 10% battery life by up to 10 hours’ worth of standby time. As a result, I no longer have to carry a portable charger around with me on a daily basis. Additional features include fingerprint security,
which gives you the convenience of signing into websites such as Gmail
and Zalora as well as paying for your purchases using Paypal with the
swipe of a finger. I enjoy online shopping and this feature makes my
shopping experience absolutely fuss-free.

In my opinion, the key highlight of the Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ is its built-in 12MP Advanced Camera which comes with Fast Auto Focus to capture action shots, Selective Focus for shallow depth-of-field (i.e. sharp subject and blurred background) and Real Time HDR to preserve the light and colours to achieve life-like photos. If you enjoy taking photos, you will definitely love this phone.

Here are some unedited photos that I took with the Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+. I was truly impressed by the photo quality as it certainly rivals that of my DSLR camera.
Selective Focus (Sharp Foreground, Blurred Background)

Selective Focus (Blurred Foreground, Sharp Background)

Selective Focus (Sharp Foreground, Blurred Background)

Selective Focus (Sharp Foreground, Blurred Background)
Pretty amazing, isn’t it? Perhaps it is about time for my bulky DSLR camera to take a backseat now.

The Samsung GALAXY ALPHA 4G+ is currently retailing at S$848 at all Samsung Experience Stores. Other than Frosted Gold, it also comes in Dazzling White and Charcoal Black.

Triumph In The Skies Movie Review

February 24, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

Triumph in the Skies is one of the most memorable Hong Kong TVB drama series that I have watched to date. I caught both seasons previously and was eagerly anticipating the release of the movie adaptation. You can imagine my delight when Clover Films invited me to the Triumph in the Skies Singapore Gala Premiere, where I had the opportunity to meet the suave Julian Cheung and charming Charmaine Sheh in the flesh.

Triumph In The Skies Movie Review

Directed by Wilson Yip (Director of Ip Man and Ip Man 2) and Matt Chow (Director of Golden Chicken 3), the movie features some of the original cast from the original series, including Julian Cheung, Francis Ng, Kenneth Ma and Elena Kong, with the addition of new stars such as Louis Koo, Charmaine Sheh, Sammi Cheng and Amber Kuo.

Star studded cast? Checked.
Beautiful cinematography? Checked.
Romance? Checked.
Humour? Checked.

With all the right ingredients, the movie is geared for success at the box office. In fact, having a star studded cast is already half the battle won.

Diehard fans of the series may beg to differ, as the central theme of the movie hinges entirely on romance instead of the day-to-day challenges faced by pilots and air stewardesses, as depicted in the series. There were also times when Sam (played by Francis Ng) behaved in a way that seemed rather out of character and less relatable if you were to draw comparisons from the series.

However, given that the film was released during Chinese New Year and shortly after Valentine’s Day, I personally found the light-hearted humour and romantic storyline very apt and thoroughly entertaining; not forgetting the beautiful cinematography and breathtaking scenes set in picturesque England.

Do you need to watch the series to understand the movie? The answer is no, and that to me, is the deal clincher.

Watch it as it is, on a clean slate, without any baggage or comparisons drawn from the series. You would actually find the movie much more enjoyable this way.

Triumph In The Skies Movie Synopsis

Young pilot Branson (Louis Koo) recently takes over Skylette, his
father’s aviation empire, only to realize his old flames Cassie
(Charmaine Sheh) is a flight attendant there. Several years ago, he was
forced to break up with her and move to New York to take care of his
father’s business. To this day, the two continue to harbor feelings for
each other but decide to keep them bottled up.

In an effort to rebrand the airline, Branson invites rock idol TM to
star in an upcoming commercial and appoints Sam (Fransic Ng) as her
flying consultant. Incongruent in both tastes and experience, this odd
couple gets off on the wrong foot. As the shoot progresses, however,
they slowly discover each other’s merits, developing a strong mutual
attraction.
Jayden (Julien Cheung) has left Skylette Airline to become a pilot for
private jets. He meets the young and vivacious Kika (Kuo Tsai Chieh)
during a flight and assumes her to be wayward and shallow. But they turn
out to have a lot in common and start falling madly in love. At the
height of their romance, Jayden realizes almost too late the secret
behind her recalcitrance.

Each of the three relationships comes with its own setbacks. As long as
one can accept the imperfection of things, finding happiness—however
fleetingly—is a blessing in itself.

Fashion Fridays: Snupped

February 13, 2015 by Regina Chow 1 Comment

In this digital age, it is only natural that our laptops, tablets and smartphones have since become extensions of ourselves. These tech gadgets are now such an integral part of our lives that it is absolutely necessary to purchase protective cases or bags since we carry our gadgets with us all the time.

Protective sleeves for tech gadgets are a dime a dozen these days but the market is sorely lacking in options that allow consumers to express our individuality and sense of style.

Snupped is a local Singaporean brand that aims to change all that and more with their fully customizable sleeves, covers and cases for all your gadgets. Not only is the size customizable, you can also pick a design from their selection of designer artworks or better yet, create and upload your very own design to make it completely one-of-a-kind! You can even add handles to your cases to make it easier to tote around.

Ever since I received my Samsung Galaxy Tab S, I’ve been on the lookout for a stylish tablet cover that would go with all my outfits and yet stand out from the crowd. This edgy Vintage Skull design by Ali Gulec ticked all my checkboxes. And as you know, the rest was history.

Aside from its sleek and stunning design, the cover is practical and fits my Galaxy Tab S to a T.

It also doubles up as a fashion accessory, adding an artistic flair to my monochrome themed outfit effortlessly.

I had every intention to put together an elegant ensemble with a hint of edginess and if I may say so myself, I think my Snupped tablet cover played a critical role in achieving what I set out to do.

Pants from Love Bonito
Shoes from Valentino
Tablet Cover from Snupped
When the cover is closed, all you see is an intricate montage of floral and baroque motifs, but when you open it up, the beautiful skull design is revealed in its full glory. I love the air of mystery.
More importantly, the probability of me bumping into someone else with the same cover is nearly zilch. I know for sure that I wouldn’t want to be caught dead in the same outfit as a random passerby. By that same token, why would you
want to have the same generic protective case for your gadget when
everyone else on the street is using it too?

Photography Credits: Ashley Cheang
Once your order is placed, Snupped ships in 5-8 business days. Pretty fast for all that customization, don’t you think? Free shipping is provided in Singapore and there’s also a 30 days return policy.

I had a wonderful time doing this shoot in collaboration with Carrie, who is one of the Top 10 finalists in the Fashion category at the Omy.sg Singapore Blog Awards 2014, and her photographer friend Ashley.

For more ideas and styling inspirations with Snupped, do pop by Carrie’s blog. Carrie got herself a laptop case with handles and it’s amazingly roomy and practical, especially if you’re a big bag kind of girl. It’s the perfect size for traveling too if you ask me.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful weekend ahead (plus Valentine’s Day celebration tomorrow)!

Chinese New Year Shopping at Wisma Atria

February 12, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

Are you all set to celebrate Chinese New Year? It’s barely a week away so if you’ve yet to get your CNY shopping done, it’s time to pull up your socks! To give you some inspiration, I’ll be featuring a couple of CNY-ready outfits from Wisma Atria to help you along.

I love Chinese New Year as it is a tradition to dress up in our new clothes, get a new hairdo and give ourselves a mini makeover to ring in the new year with a bang. What this means is that we have every reason to indulge in a little retail therapy! I’m sure you would agree that comfort is key when it comes to selecting an outfit for Chinese New Year visitations, which makes jeans a popular option for many of us. Instead of going with the flow, I personally prefer to stand out from the crowd with a casual chic romper.

Whole9yards

Make a statement with this gorgeous muted pink romper from Whole9yards. I especially adore the 3d flower appliques that resemble cherry blossoms which are bound to be a conversation-starter.

Paired with these pointed nude
lambskin flats from Pretty Fit and a bright red leather bag from Plinio
Visona, this ensemble will take you through the day in style without
compromising on comfort. Let the romper shine by keeping accessories to a minimum with a geometric cuff and dainty mid finger rings in festive shades of gold.

Applique Lady-man Romper from Whole9yards // Cuff from colette by colette hayman

If you prefer something a little more oriental, slip into a Cheongsam inspired dress that fuses oriental elements with a contemporary flair. This beautiful mint dress with intricate lace cut-outs from Whole9yards caught my eye the moment I stepped into their store at Wisma Atria.

The flared A-line cutting reminiscent of the 1950s exudes a vintage vibe while the scallop lace detailing adds to its oriental charm and girlish appeal. This, in my opinion, is the perfect dress for Chinese New Year.

Gardenia Bloom Dress by Whole9yards
Earrings from colette by colette hayman

Pumps from Pretty Fit

What I love most about this feminine number is its versatility. You can easily dress it up with diamonte earrings, gold pumps and a tote bag to make it work-appropriate. For Chinese New Year gatherings, all you have to do is to swap your work tote for a whimsical clutch like this beauty from Plinio Visona and you’re all ready to go!

Leather Clutch from Plinio Visona

Do you have Chinese New Year parties or work functions to attend? This is perhaps the only time of the year when we cast aside our little black dresses and start rocking bold prints and vibrant colours to add to the festive atmosphere.

Turn heads and be the centre of
attention with this satin maxi dress from Future State. I absolutely adore the baroque prints and floral motifs in cheerful
shades of pink, orange and yellow. Bold yet elegant, a dress like this is hard to come by and would be an excellent choice for both formal events during the Chinese New Year period and that romantic Valentine’s Day dinner you’ve been eagerly anticipating.

The best part about such dresses is that you don’t have to accessorize. A pair of dangling earrings and statement heels are all you need to amp up the glam factor.

Earrings from colette by colette hayman
Heels from Pedro

Thanks for reading! I hope today’s post has given you more outfit ideas and inspirations to dress up for Chinese New Year.

SOTHYS Sensitive Skincare Line

February 10, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

SOTHYS is one of the skincare brands on my beauty bucket list and I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day when I can finally tick it off. That day finally came on Boxing Day last year when I was invited to a tea session hosted by Sothys at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique, where the SOTHYS Sensitive Line was unveiled.
Did you know that 90% of Asian women have sensitive skin? There are two types of sensitive skin, namely 1) naturally sensitive skin or 2) temporarily sensitised skin. People  with naturally sensitive skin, like me, generally have thin and fair skin which turns red easily. Temporarily sensitised skin, on the other hand, is affected by external factors such as environmental aggressions, lifestyle or the use of unsuitable skincare/cosmetic products.

SOTHYS Sensitive Line would work well for you regardless of which group you fall into as it aims to build your skin’s inner strength to balance your skin’s tolerance threshold and limit inflammatory reactions. What I also like about this range is that it is completely fragrance-free.

The star ingredient in SOTHYS Sensitive Line Skincare is Spa Thermal Water extracted from between 350-400m altitude at the heart of Belgian Ardennes. It is pure, has a low mineral and sodium content as well as a ph 5 value, which is the same as that of our skin. It helps to rebalance the hypersensitivity of our skin and strengthen its tolerance threshold by blocking TRPV1 epidermal receptors that induces pain or itch on the surface of our skin.

Let’s take a look at some of the products in this skincare line.

 Nutri-Soothing Mask (S$99, 50ml)

Nutri-Soothing mask is an emergency care mask that instantly relieves any discomfort and rebalance your skin. As we were given handy travel sized versions of the skincare range to test out at home and I’ve been using this as a hydrating mask once a week.
All you have to do is to apply a thin layer over your face and neck, leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off. My skin is generally dehydrated, which makes it susceptible to itch. It doesn’t help that my skin condition worsens when I travel to colder and dryer climates. I like how this mask does a good job of soothing my skin while providing much-needed hydration at the same time.
Soothing Melting Fluid (S$119/50ml)

SOTHYS Soothing Melting Fluid is essentially a daily moisturizer that acts like a barrier to protect your skin from external aggressions and reduce any skin discomfort.

This light-weight formula is
great for those of you with sensitive and combination skin as it absorbs
readily into your skin just like water, without any sticky after-feel.

If your skin is sensitive and
dry, or if you intend to venture to dryer climates, you might want to
consider the Soothing Melting Cream which has a slightly heavier
texture to deliver optimal hydration.

SOS Soothing Serum (S$109/20ml)
As the name suggests, the Soothing SOS serum instantly soothes permanent or temporary sensations of discomfort and limits the appearance of redness.
This is particularly useful if your skin is prone to itch or redness as it is proven that your skin becomes less sensitive to external aggressions after 15 days of usage. You can apply this before moisturizer on your entire face or on targeted spots.
Micellar Cleansing Water (S$79/200ml)

Micellar Cleansing Water is a 2-in-1 cleanser for face and eyes and is by far my favourite product in the entire range because it also doubles up as a skin refreshener. Formulated with Micelles which consists of gentle cleansing agents, it is able to trap and lift surface impurities to effectively cleanse your skin in just one step.
As no rinsing is required, I like to apply this to my face with cotton pads to freshen up my skin before and after my hot yoga classes when I do not have a facial cleanser on hand. This is also perfect for removing light make-up or tinted sunblock.

If you’ve sensitive skin just like me, do consider giving SOTHYS Sensitive Skincare Line a go. Not only is it proven to improve your skin’s condition, the light and silky smooth texture of the products is certainly a huge draw, especially in our humid climate.
