Our stomachs were a little disappointed in comparison, for the buffet spread provided was less than satisfactory, but the lovely company of JW and Karen more than made up for that!

I was attracted to this pair of shorts because I first saw a similar pair at Zara retailing at a much higher price. The workmanship is of top-notch quality. Absolutely no regrets.

It is made of soft, slightly sheer chiffon material and comes in a cheerful yellow hue. The front of the top can also be tied loosely (as shown below) or tied into a bow depending on your preference.

When it comes to colour, pink is perhaps the most dominant hue in this city. There are pink taxis, pink buses, pink ATM machines, pink banks. As I walked down the streets, I would wonder if I was actually in Barbie’s home town (if such a place even exists!).

Here’s a cute candle-holder in the style of Cinderella’s carriage that I bought to decorate my home:

It’s Happened To Be A Closet (I have to admit the grammar made me cringe a little) really resembles a closet bursting with clothes. One wouldn’t expect to find a cafe here as it is safely tucked away in an inconspicuous corner on the 2nd floor of this fashion store.

This treasure trove has an intriguing mesh of curiosities, cheerful gerberas , funny looking toys (check out Pinocchio on the shelf!), mis-matched furniture and clothes. We felt like kids, marveling at interesting artifacts in every nook and corner. Honestly, this cafe evokes such a warm, cozy feeling, you almost feel like a guest in a friend’s home.

Somehow, cafes that are linked to fashion labels or stores never do disappoint when it comes to food, especially if they serve Italian cuisine. I still can’t get over how pasta tastes so much better in Bangkok vis-à-vis Singapore or even Italy for that matter. Perhaps Thai spices were added?

We loved the eclectic interior decor so much that we took photos of practically everything in the cafe. There we were, scouting for the perfect angles and clicking away on our cameras.

Even the washroom was not spared. I was so enthralled by it because the entrance looks just like a closet!

This toy motorcycle reminds me of a toy that I had when I was in primary school. It brings back fond memories as I used to ride all over the house on a similar motorcycle.

Forgive me for the blurred landscape shots though. I didn’t use flash because if I did, I wouldn’t have been able to capture the dazzling city lights in its original glory. The winds are pretty strong too, so if you go there without a tripod, this is what you’ll end up with!

To me, this was an out-of-this-world experience (in case you were wondering, it’s not because of the apparition in the collage below! LOL) and definitely the highlight of our trip.

In the event that you do turn up in shorts, t-shirt and slippers, fret not, for the restaurant cum bar provides patrons with a change of clothes too.

I myself was initially oblivious to the existence of this cafe until my good friend Lyndie highlighted that I definitely have to go there for a meal. The fusion Thai-Italian food and Thai fried rice here were so scrumptious, every bite was bursting with flavours and we eventually reached a state of euphoria! This was one of our most orgasmic gastronomic (what a mouthful) experiences ever!

Honestly, you will never find food of this quality on our shores, not even in our fine dining restaurants, unless you’re talking about fine dining Chinese restaurants. Then again, that’s a totally different ball game altogether.

If you haven’t been to Greyhound Cafe, do pay them a visit when you are next in Bangkok ;).
