Fashion: SheIn Christmas Gift Ideas

December 20, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments
We are just days away from Christmas. Time flies, doesn’t it? Have you completed your Christmas shopping yet? Well, even if you haven’t, fret not, because last minute shopping, especially with retailers such as SheIn, can be just as rewarding, if not more, thanks to their Christmas sale!
In collaboration with SheIn, I have put together a Christmas gift guide comprising some of my favourite minimalist pieces from their winter collection. These classic picks are great for the upcoming festivities and also double up as wardrobe workhorses. Looking stylish while braving the cold isn’t such a tall order after all, and the best part is, you know your girlfriends will thank you for it.

1. Long Coats

I have come to realize that one of the best ways to avoid looking like a dumpling during winter is to “break up” your silhouette to create curves. Hence, my first pick is this long grey coat that drops all the way down to my shins because it allows you to do just that and keep warm at the same time. If your goal is to shake up your girlfriend’s wardrobe, this is the gift for her.

Link: Grey Long Sleeve Notch Lapel Coat (US$42.99)
How do you break up a silhouette beneath the coat? The easiest way to go about doing so is to pair a mini dress with thigh high boots. These turtleneck sweater dresses go perfectly with thigh high boots to accentuate your femininity.

2. Sweaters with a Twist

Sweaters are a must-have in everyone’s winter wardrobe, but if the words safe and boring are not in your fashion dictionary, sweaters with an unexpected twist would be right up your alley. If your girlfriend is just like you, surprise her with a sweater with lace details just like this!

Link: Grey Long Sleeve Contrast Lace Knit Sweater (US$26.78)

3. Blanket Scarves

Blanket scarves instantly add interest to any outfit as they can be worn both as a scarf as well as a shawl.  These make wonderful gifts as they are so incredibly versatile.
I wore this soft and cozy blanket fringe scarf from SheIn as a shawl over a black lapel double breasted coat to lend a rocker chic vibe to the otherwise casual ensemble.
Link: Grey UStriped Fringe Scarf (US$20)
Alternatively, you can also jazz up a classic winter jacket with the same scarf for a more elegant, polished look.
Link: Black Lapel Double Breasted Coat (US$57.51)
Inspired by these gift ideas? You might want to check out SheIn and get those fingers clicking while the Christmas sale is on!

Get Rakuten Cashback and Promo Codes with Shopback

August 26, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

Online shopping is so popular these days that it has become part and parcel of our lives. I buy everything that I want online without having to step out of the front door, and I love unwrapping the items when they arrive at my doorstep. I always feel like a kid in a candy store and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels such inexplicable joy.

And the joy only gets magnified when you snag a good deal through promo codes online. Promo codes aside, did you know that you could also get cashback when you shop online via websites like Shopback? I first read about Shopback when it was featured on Yahoo and Cosmopolitan previously and it is true that you can get the latest fashion deals and offers here.

Shopback teams up with your favourite online retailers such as Zalora, Rakuten, Taobao and Asos so that you can get cashback credited to your account simply by shopping.
Yes, real hard cash and not store credits.
Here’s how it works:
Take Singapore-based Japanese retailer Rakuten for example. Did you know that you will receive 5% cashback when you make a purchase at Rakuten via Shopback? With Shopback, you can get the best Rakuten cashback and promo codes.
I have been eyeing these Japanese snacks/gift sets on Rakuten and with the 5% cashback, I see no reason why I should hesitate any longer.  If you are a fan of Japanese snacks, you would probably know that most of these popular snacks are exclusive to Japan and hard to come by in Singapore.

Now, Rakuten is just one of the many online retailers that Shopback has tied up with. You can even get cashback when you shop on Taobao and find out more about the latest Groupon deals and promo codes from Shopback. They have been featured in both Cosmopolitan and Yahoo previously
The next time you decide to go online shopping, remember to check out Shopback too for the best cashback deals. Finally, we don’t have to wait for the next sale to start shopping!

Have you heard of Beautiful.Me?
Home to 300 top brands in the beauty, body and baby industry at prices that are way below retail, Beautiful.Me is the new kid on the block that is set to revolutionize your shopping experience.

http://bit.ly/1Lr5E7N
SKII, Avene, 3CE, Laneige, L’Oreal, NYX, OPI and the list goes on – you name it, they have it, at much lower prices and delivered right to your doorstep.
Doesn’t that sound amazing?

No more shopping bags and no more waiting for the next big sale before going shopping!
How is Beautiful.Me different from other e-retailers? How will I benefit from it?
Incredible cost savings, that’s what you’ll stand to gain. Plus, you get paid to shop too! In other words, we can finally have our cake and eat it.
Beautiful.Me is a members-only online shopping portal that offers all your favourite brands at special members’ prices that start much lower. The concept is similar to that of Costco and Walmart’s Sam Club in the US, where members get huge cost savings when they shop for groceries.
With Beautiful.Me, you get to enjoy cost savings when you shop for your favourite beauty, body and baby products simply by joining as a member.
Here are some other perks that you’ll enjoy:
  • Reward points with every purchase,
which you can redeem for free samples, product trials and gifts. No minimum purchase is required!

  • Exclusive Flash Deals, Group Buys and Daily Deals to help you to save even more

  • Unlock cash rebates and rewards when you share your purchases on social media, write a review or refer friends!
Beautiful.Me adopts a “profit-less” pricing model, meaning to say that only a small markup is applied to the products sold.  By cutting out retail inefficiencies such as rental cost and related expenses, the cost savings are passed on to consumers like you and me!
Membership Fees
To cover basic expenses, it charges an annual membership fee of S$49, which is backed by a 200% Satisfaction Guarantee.
What does that mean?
If you don’t save more than double the amount paid for your membership, Beautiful.Me will refund you the difference at the end of the year! Isn’t that good news? You have nothing to lose really.
Free 6-Month Membership at Beautiful.Me (If you sign up now!!)
And I have even better news for you! From now till 26 August, before its official launch, click here to sign up and you’ll enjoy free membership at Beautiful.Me for 6 months!
It doesn’t just stop here. You can automatically extend your membership to 12 months for free (and early access) by recommending 5 friends to sign up.
Oh and remember I mentioned that you’ll get paid as well? When you refer 10 friends, you’ll be rewarded with a share of up to S$800,000 in cash rebates! The more friends you refer, the more rewards you unlock!
http://bit.ly/1Lr5E7N
Good things ought to be shared, especially when excellent deals and massive discounts are in the picture. I have already referred some of my friends (you know who you are) so that we can all start saving together.
You can start saving too by signing up at Beautiful.Me today. Let’s lend a helping hand to one another (and our pockets) in our quest for beauty!

Summer 2015 Trend: Lace Dresses & Gladiator Sandals

June 17, 2015 by Regina Chow 3 Comments
Breezy lace dresses are a necessity for summer. So are gladiator sandals this year. Put these two together and you get a match made in boho heaven. Yes, the bohemian trend is back this summer, so remember to add a couple of lace tops, dresses and lace-up gladiator sandals to stay ahead of the curve.
Lace dresses hardly go out of style and honestly, you don’t have to wait till summer to take them out for a spin (especially when it’s summer all year round in Singapore!). After all, which lace lover can resist the intricate lace details on the Luna Maxi Dress from my current favourite label For Love & Lemons?

The surprise cut-out at the back adds to the allure and beauty of the dress.Glam it up with a pair of open
toe heels or keep it casual with this season’s must-have and oh-so-comfy
gladiator sandals which have since become my weekend footwear. Versatile maxi dresses are hard to come by and I know this number is here to stay in my wardrobe.

Luna maxi dress from For Love & Lemons
Vintage Carpet Bag from Sydney
Gladiator Sandals from Hong Kong
Hair by Michelle from Jeric Salon (Bugis)

Have you got your summer wardrobe all planned out?

Here are some of my picks from For Love & Lemons and Shopbop to whet your fashion appetite:

Celebrating Mother's Day with Noelgifts

April 30, 2015 by Regina Chow No Comments

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and there would be no better way to celebrate this special day with your mum than to pamper her with a thoughtful gift, isn’t it?

If you’re wondering what to get for your mum this Mother’s Day, you might just find the perfect gift at Noelgifts.

Importance of Gifting & Celebrating Mother’s Day

My mum and I may
be poles apart in terms of personality and character, but our love for
each other (and our common love for shopping!) transcends all boundaries
and binds us together.

 Life hasn’t been a
bed of roses for her as she strives to juggle both work and family,
often taking it upon herself and staying up late to complete her
household responsibilities despite having to work the next day.
Nonetheless, she has always been a fighter even in the face of
challenges. She is our pillar of strength and she alone has kept
the family together in hard times and adversity. That is why I always make it a
point to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mum and family to express our
gratitude and appreciation for the most special woman in our lives.
A cozy celebration at our favourite restaurant is never complete without a surprise gift at the end of the meal. To be able to put a smile on my mum’s face and see her eyes light up when she receives a gift she adores truly warms my heart and every year, I crack my brains thinking about what would make a good gift.
Why Noelgifts?

I was pleasantly surprised by Noelgifts’ plethora of gift options for Mother’s Day. This year, they have gone one step further by bundling their gorgeous floral bouquets with practical gifts ranging from spa treats, hand creams, perfumes, cakes, organic tea, nourishing tonics to even jewellery!

There’s something for every mum, whatever tickles her fancy.

Thanks to Noelgifts, I can now spring a surprise on my mum this Mother’s Day with the click of a button, regardless of where I may be.

This is such an ingenious idea as it makes gift shopping not only thoughtful, but quick, convenient and absolutely fuss-free too!

Which gift am I picking for my mum?

My mum has a soft spot for jewellery, clothes and hand creams. As I just bought her a necklace for her birthday recently, I figured the Playful Elegance Gift Set which comes with a lovely bouquet accompanied by Crabtree & Evelyn’s Pear and Pink Magnolia hand cream (100ml) and bath gel (250ml) would be a good gift for her this Mother’s Day. My mum has been
advocating the use of hand creams since I was in my teens and thanks to
her golden words of wisdom, my hands have gotten smoother and
softer over the years.
 I’m sure the
flowers in this gift set would perk up her day at the office, plus she can easily pop
this handy hand cream into her handbag and keep her hands hydrated
throughout the day!

Here’s wishing my dear mum and all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day in advance!

Free Delivery

Mother’s Day is just slightly over a week away, so if you’ve yet to find the perfect gift for mummy dearest, click here to check out Noelgifts and place your orders!

Fashion Fridays: Cocomi – Luxury Watch Online Retailer (Giveaway at the end!)

March 20, 2015 by Regina Chow 56 Comments

The evolution of the retail industry to online shopping cannot be ignored, and Cocomi.com, a newly launched online retailer specializing in premium luxury watches knows just that.

 Founded by the Nobreeze Group
who also brought in the hugely popular jewellery brand Pandora and other
brands such as Cath Kidston and Bering, just to name a few, you can
shop with peace of mind at Cocomi.com as what you see is what you get.

I invited Karen along with me to the media launch of Cocomi.com, which gave us a sneak peek into the world-class brands offered, including Aigner, Ballast, Bering, Casio, CCCP, Cognito, Daniel Wellington, DuFa, James McCabe, Morgan, Pebble and Thomas Earnshaw, among others.

Here’s how Cocomi.com differentiates itself from other watch e-retailers:

  •  100% Genuine Watches
  • Free Shipping in Singapore (within 3-5 working days)
  • 30-day Return Policy
  • Safe & Secure Payment
  • One-Stop Service Centre
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Cocomi.com has a one-stop service centre to provide after service care for all your needs. My wrist is tiny and one of the reasons why I hardly buy watches online is because of the hassle of having to get my watch strap adjusted by another watch retailer at their physical store. Thanks to Cocomi.com’s service centre, I can finally cast my worries aside.

To provide you with an exclusive shopping experience, Cocomi.com has also secured exclusive rights to market brands such as Ballast, DuFa and James McCabe.

I placed my first order on Cocomi.com recently to put their service to the test and I am happy to report that they delivered what was promised. I received my Bering watch in less than 5 working days in pristine condition!
*GIVEAWAY*
To thank all my lovely readers for your support over the years, I will be giving away this gorgeous Bering watch worth S$299 to one lucky reader!

Fashion: How to Look Classy in a Crop Top

March 16, 2015 by Regina Chow 1 Comment

The crop top.  Love it or hate it,
this nineties trend is back with a vengeance. If you read my blog regularly, it
wouldn’t take very much to guess that I am a huge fan of crop tops. No longer
just for teeny-boppers, the crop top has now been bumped up to high-fashion
status as they appear on runways in sleek, modern fabrics, prints and
cuts.

A-listers like Cara Delevingne, Chloe Moretz, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and
Anne Hathaway, Diane Kruger and Karlie Kloss soon took to the revived trend,
which shows no signs on stopping for now. Perhaps it’s about time to make space
in your wardrobe for crop tops!

The modern crop top no longer resembles its trashier counterparts circa
1997 (also known as Britney Spears’ Oops! I Did It Again era). It can look
incredibly classy and stylish when worn correctly. Today, I’m going to share
more about how you can stay classy in a crop top. Pair your crop tops with the
following:

1. A pencil skirt

Here’s how the classy ladies do it on the red carpet: a plain-coloured
crop top (preferably with sleeves) with a midi skirt in a subtle print, a la
Olivia Wilde and Miranda Kerr, or a printed bustier top with a skirt in a
punchy hue. The key is to keep the skirt’s hemline at a modest length, mid-calf
or knee-length. Keep the prints as simple as possible and let the gorgeous
female silhouette take centre stage. Remember: less is more.

2. A-line skirt

A high-waist A-line skirt is a girly complement to a crop top, and it
looks flattering on everyone. At midi length, it lends a modern take on the
lady-like fifties look. Look how Zoe Saldana nailed the demure yet sexy look in
her teal ensemble, paired with nude strappy heels. If you prefer your skirts to
come with some edginess, take a leaf out of Shailene Woodley’s book and go for
leather.

3. Classic White

Who said white is an impractical colour only reserved for weddings? In a
crop top and skirt combination, white is a lovely shade that brings a dose of
spring-worthy breeziness. And you don’t have to stick to pure white. Different
shades like ivory, off-white or even cream are cool alternatives. With
all-white ensembles, it is easy to have fun with your accessories and makeup.
Bring on the lipsticks and blushers!

4. Sleek Trousers

Another way to balance the midriff-baring crop top is by pairing it with
sleek slim-cut trousers. Do as Odette Annable did and go all-black for a
black-tie event, or toughen up an all-white ensemble with strong shoulders a la
Vanessa Hudgens in a Catherine Malandrino crop top.

If you’re after a more laidback look, a dark-coloured cropped tank top
with printed silk trousers will have you looking equal parts chill and sexy,
like the way Diane Kruger does. The A-lister flaunted her abs and gave her
outfit an unexpected jolt of colour with a pair of Prabal Gurung pants. For a
daytime street style, do as French designer, actress, and musician Alma
Jodorowsky did and pair a sweet-looking white crop top with wide-legged jeans,
a salmon-pink cross-body purse and a dark chapeau.

5. Prints

How do you wear a crop top and not look like you’re stuck in the
nineties? Update it with modern prints, that’s how! Chloe Moretz applies her
daring yet classy fashion sense to this Valentino getup, covering up a tiny
black crop top with a boxy printed jacket and matching shorts. Look how her
thin-strapped stilettos elongated her slim legs! Definitely a tasteful grown-up
look for the teenage actress. Likewise, the Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev
opted for a printed crop top and shorts ensemble in a paint-splatter print,
finishing off with a pair of complementary pink pumps and a girly side braid.

6. Choose sleek fabrics

The best way to update your crop top is with lush fabrics and sleek
silhouettes. Flowy fabrics can look sloppy, and plain old cotton can look a
little too nineties grunge (unless that’s the look you’re going for), so stick
to structured, stiff fabrics that hold their shape and boxy cuts that dial up
the drama by enhancing your silhouette. Case in point: the bold, edgy but
elegant looks seen on Rihanna, Cara, and Anne.

Are you a fan of crop tops? How do YOU stay classy in your crop tops?

Shopping for Luxury Designer Brands Online

January 5, 2015 by Regina Chow 1 Comment

Those of you who shop online may already be familiar with websites such as net-a-porter, shopbop and mytheresa. These are some of my favourite online stores for luxury designer brands as they stock the latest collections at slightly lower price-points than what you would get at brick-and-mortar stores.
These stores are great if you’re on the lookout for classic designs or products from the designers’ current season. I don’t know about you, but there are times when I get so busy that I end up missing out on highly coveted seasonal items. I personally don’t mind past season collections as well, and even better if they come at a steep markdown.
The Outnet
That’s where The Outnet comes into the picture. The Outnet is my idea of factory outlet shopping from the comfort of your home. A pretty amazing idea, isn’t it? .
Did you know that The Outnet is actually the sister website of net-a-porter and it belongs to the same parent company?  There’s no need to worry about product authenticity and the best part is, you can now snag designer labels at factory outlet prices!
Needless to say, I was completely swept off my feet when I first stumbled upon The Outnet 2 years ago. Granted, sizes can be limited (or they may sell out really quickly!) for the more popular designs, but it isn’t difficult to find good deals. After all, everything is at least 40-50% off regular prices!
Here’s what I bought from The Outnet recently:
I adore Charlotte Olympia’s designs and when I saw this Capri Cats rubber slippers, I had to buy not just 1, but 3 pairs (the other 2 were for friends)!  At 55% off, it is almost a no-brainer. Plus, these rain-proof shoes are just perfect for the rainy weather these days.

Brian Lichtenberg never fails to put a smile on my face with his line of humorous parody t-shirts. I have seen these t-shirts on other websites retailing for over S$100, so you can imagine my delight when I saw the Homies (parody of Hermes) t-shirt in my size at just S$41! The material is so soft and comfortable, I can foresee myself wearing this t-shirt to death.
Here’re a few other items that I am eyeing at the moment:
Considering that my favourite Frame Denim jeans costs more than this pair of Saint Laurent ones, I have to say that this wardrobe staple is an absolute steal! The cutting looks great too.

I bought a pair of leather over-the-knee boots from Zara for about S$300, but over at The Outnet, you can get a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti leather knee boots (with heels too!) at S$488. Not exactly cheap, but if you were to compare it to my Zara ones, I would say this gives more bang for buck.

I’ve always liked T by Alexander Wang for its basic wardrobe pieces with a twist. This dress may look simple in front but it has an open-back that adds an element of surprise. Love it! Alas, unfortunately for me and fortunately for my wallet, they’re out of my size.
Here’s yet another interesting interpretation of a basic tank by T by Alexander Wang. I love how their designs will always stand the test of time. And at 65% off, it is pretty tempting!
I know, Christmas is over, but indulge me just this once please? These whimsical holly suede and patent leather flats by Charlotte Olympia have been around for a while, but now, they finally have it in my size!
I love versatile, easy-to-match leather shoulder bags such as this one by Tory Burch, especially when it is priced at 50% off regular price.
International Shipping

Express shipping to Singapore costs £16.50, which is relatively reasonable if you were to share the cost with a few like-minded girlfriends/boyfriends.
On a brighter note, your items will only take 4-5 days to arrive at your doorstep! In fact, based on previous experience, they usually arrive in about 3 days.
New Arrivals Thrice A Week

With new arrivals in-store every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice.
And don’t say I didn’t warn you, fastest fingers first! All the popular sizes get snapped up really quickly, so be sure to sign up on the mailing list to receive the latest updates!
Happy Shopping!

My Dream Wardrobe: Free Platform for Selling Pre-Owned and Brand New Designer Items

October 8, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

In a digital age where online shopping has since become a mainstream activity, many of us are increasingly turning to online websites and social media platforms such as instagram to purchase or peddle our preowned or brand new designer bags.

Most platforms these days charge relatively high fees for peddling your bags but at My Dream Wardrobe, you get to post up your items for sale completely free of charge! The best part is, this privilege will be extended all the way till next December or even longer, till further notice.

Here’s how you can spread the love and start selling your pre-owned and brand new items:

Step 1: Click on the “I want to Sell” tab on My Dream Wardrobe

Step 2: Read the steps and click on “Post An Ad”

http://mydreamwardrobe.com.sg/want_to_sell.aspx

Thereafter, all you have to do is to:

1) Fill in your personal and product details

 2) Upload the product’s photos

3) Confirm Advertisement Details

Simple isn’t it?

If you believe in putting all
your eggs in one basket (or selling your bags on one platform in this case),
posting them for sale on My Dream Wardrobe would be a wonderful
solution. Even if you prefer to spread your eggs among a few
baskets, My Dream Wardrobe is a platform that still fits the bill.

After all, the zero
cost involved ensures that you have absolutely nothing to lose.

I don’t know about you, but I have never come across a free platform for selling your pre-owned and brand new designer items, so do take advantage of this privilege while it lasts!

65daigou: USA Online Shopping

July 24, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

If you shop frequently on Taobao, 65daigou is probably no stranger to you.

Some of my friends have been using 65daigou as an agent to purchase items from Taobao for as long as I can remember and they have nothing but praises for 65daigou’s service.

However, aside from shopping on Taobao, do you know that you can now use 65daigou for US shopping websites too?

Victoria’s Secret, Forever21 and GAP are just some of the US brands that I adore and while they are readily available in Singapore, the selection here is limited and the prices are much higher as well. In view of the lower prices and wider selection online, it definitely makes more sense to purchase from these brands’ US websites. However, I get put off by the high international shipping costs especially when I buy from multiple merchants and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who feels this way.
Why Should I Use 65daigou?

Not only can you enjoy lower prices on US websites, you can also combine your purchases from a few merchants in one single shipment to save cost.

And if you happen to chance upon a US website that does not provide international shipping, fret not because 65daigou can easily take care of that.

To illustrate my point, let’s take a look at GNC Women’s Evening Primrose Oil 1300.

It is priced at S$59.95 on the GNC Singapore website.

On the GNC US website, you will find the same product at just US$18.99! The only catch is, GNC’s US website does not ship internationally, but we can easily resolve that with 65daigou.

Here’s a comparison of the cost savings that I can enjoy if I were to purchase 10 bottles of GNC Women’s Evening Primrose Oil from GNC’s US website as compared to its Singapore website:

As you can tell, I can enjoy savings of more than 50% by buying off GNC’s US website via 65daigou, even after including agent and international shipping fees. Pretty incredible, isn’t it?
Let’s check out another example.
Victoria’s Secret ships to Singapore, but if you were to purchase through 65daigou, you’ll receive more savings.

In this case, the savings may not seem as significant as compared to the previous example, but every little bit adds up especially if you are buying in larger quantities or from different websites.
65daigou also physically repacks your purchases from various merchants into one parcel so you’ll only have to pay a one-time fee for international shipping!

Full insurance of up to S$2000 is also included for each package, which means you will never have to worry about your items getting lost in the mail.

How do I use 65daigou’s service for US websites?
All you need to do is to copy and paste the URL of the product that you wish to purchase into the blank space at the top of the 65daigou website here.

An order form will pop up automatically thereafter. The site is really easy to navigate and the process is absolutely fuss-free.

I know I’ll definitely be using 65daigou for my next US online shopping spree!
For more details on 65daigou, check out their website here.

For real-time updates, like their Facebook Page and follow them on Instagram (@65daigou) too!
Happy Shopping!
