AFC Kidachi Detox and Diamond Vision Health Supplements Review

June 30, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments
AFC Kidachi Detox and Diamond Vision are two health supplements that I have incorporated into my daily routine for about a month now.
Kidachi Detox aids digestion and detox while Diamond Vision protects our eyes from UV rays and blue light emitted from computers, mobile phones, television and LED lights. Both supplements target common issues that manifest in this digital age, where we are constantly embroiled in a whirlwind of activities. Being connected 24-7 means that checking our emails on our laptops and mobile phones while we are on the go has become a norm, and sometimes, we get so caught up with everything that’s happening around us, we end up neglecting our health.
There have been several occasions where I had to skip meals or eat at irregular hours simply because I have deadlines to meet, and I’m pretty sure I’m not just speaking for myself here. Busy is a drug that we have all become addicted to.
While it is difficult to change our current lifestyle, incorporating exercise (like yoga!) and health supplements such as AFC’s Kidachi Detox and Diamond Vision into our daily lives helps us to take baby steps towards better health and fitness.
Kidachi Detox
 What is Kidachi Detox?

Kidachi Detox is a high potency all-natural formula, with active Kidachi aloe, 10 billion Lactobacillus plantarum and prebiotics (inulin and oligosaccharides) to promote healthy digestion, restore gastrointestinal health and strengthen immunity.
Kidachi Detox is recommended for those with:
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome & Constipation

  • Poor digestion & gastric health

  • Diet rich in processed food

  • Bad breath &  body odour

  • Skin problems such as acne & allergy
Did you know that our stomach is responsible for 75% of our digestive functions? Our digestive system is home to 100 trillion bacteria (both beneficial and pathogenic) and forms the foundation for stronger immunity and overall health.
Indigestion occurs as a result of food processing and cooking methods which destroy vital food nutrients and enzymes required for digestion. You may also get indigestion from eating at irregular hours.
What are the symptoms of indigestion? Common symptoms include a bloated stomach, gastric pain and heartburn.

I am very prone to indigestion and I often feel bloated due to my irregular eating habits. I also fall prey to indigestion and constipation when I travel overseas, as a slight time difference is all it takes to cause my body clock to go haywire.
Thankfully for me, AFC’s Kidachi Detox came just in time for my Hokkaido trip in early June. I packed it in my luggage as I knew it would definitely come in handy, and it sure did. My stomach started to feel bloated a few days into the trip and my bowel movement was affected as well.
That was when I decided to whip out my bottle of Kidachi Detox.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage of 6 caplets per day and you can either take all 6 at a go or split it up the dosage throughout the course of the day. For ease of convenience, I usually just take all 6 caplets in the morning or before I head to bed. I tend to have difficulties swallowing large pills, but these caplets are relatively small, smooth and easy to swallow.

Why should you choose Kidachi Detox?
It is 100% natural and formulated with active Kidachi aloe, a premium species of aloe exclusively found in Japan that naturally restores the pH level in our stomach and aids in the breakdown of sugar and fat to relieve discomfort. It is widely recognized as a medicine in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia as Anthraquinone is present in this species. Anthraquinone is known for regulating and improving bowel movement without any side effects.
It is also the only aloe supplement in the market that contains 10 billion Lactobacillus plantarum and prebiotics to restore digestive health. The Lactobacillus plantarum used are specially treated to withstand high heat, such that it can survive in acidic stomach conditions and prevent harmful bacteria from affecting the absorption of nutrients. Prebiotics, on the other hand, promote the growth of good bacteria.
Was Kidachi Detox effective for me?
I was mindful that Kidachi Detox is meant to be a dietary supplement and not a miracle drug, hence I didn’t expect the results to be immediate. However, after taking the supplement for just 3-4 days, I realized that my stomach was less bloated than before and my bowel movement became more regular. It has been almost a month since I embarked on my journey with Kidachi Detox and I am happy to report that I hardly feel bloated anymore. This is one supplement that I would personally recommend and will continue to take in the long run.
Diamond Vision
What is Diamond Vision?
Diamond Vision is an all natural supplement scientifically formulated to provide crucial nutriental support to safeguard the well-being of your eyes by reducing accommodative stress from prolonged work at near focal length. Harmful blue light and oxygen radicals that are harmful to the eyes are neutralized. Key ingredients include 4 super carotenoids for eye health, namely Astaxanthin, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Bilberry Extracts.
Diamond Vision is recommended for those who:
  • Experience eye fatigue with near point tasks or after prolonged work on computer
  • Constantly exposed to UV and strong lighting
  • Read from gadgets such as tablets and smartphones frequently (that’s like every one of us!)
  • Experience difficulties in adjusting between different focal points
Did you know that blue lights emitted from electronic devices such as smartphone, laptops and tablets create a by-product called free radicals that damage our eyes?
Exposure to blue lights and UV rays over time can lead to premature eye problems such as blurred vision, dry eyes, eye strain and macular degeneration.
I personally suffer from dry eyes and eye strain as I am always clearing work on my iPhone or laptop. It doesn’t help that I wear contact lenses for extended periods of time as well. To reduce the discomfort, I always carry a bottle of eye drops with me wherever I go, and I try to give my eyes a break every hour or so by giving them a gentle massage.

However, old habits die hard and there are times when I either get carried away or my work schedule requires my eyes to be glued to my electronic devices all the time. That’s where Diamond Vision can then play a role in mitigating the negative effects these gadgets have on my eyes.

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage is 2 softgels per day. These softgels are just as easy to swallow. In case you were wondering, yes, you can take both Kidachi Detox and Diamond Vision together.

Why should you choose Diamond Vision?

Diamond Vision provides comprehensive protection for the eyes against blue light and UV light through the use of Natural Astaxanthin, Lutein and Zeaxanthin. It also improves visual acuity, blood flow in the eyes, and delays age-related vision deterioration. This would be an excellent product for your aged parents too.

Was Diamond Vision effective for me?

Having taken this supplement for about 2-3 weeks, I do notice that my eyes feel less dry and tired than before. I also feel good knowing that my eyes are now protected from blue lights and UV rays. That said, prevention is always better than cure and I still make it a point to put on my sunnies and use a brolly when I’m out in the sun. I also try to take more short breaks when I am working on my computer.

Fashion & Beauty: Chacott & Freed of London

June 25, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments
Chacott and Freed of London, two of the most highly regarded labels in the ballet world, have set up their first South East Asian flagship store in Mandarin Gallery. This is the first store in Asia, outside of Chacott’s home country, Japan.
Some of the world’s best handcrafted pointe shoes are produced by these two labels, making them the go-to brands for professional ballet needs. These brands are also represented by renowned Dance Ambassasdors and ballet dance troupes from Japan, Switzerland, USA and even Singapore’s very own Singapore Dance Theatre.

Chacott and Freed of London have also garnered a loyal celebrity following over the years, including Margot Fonteyn, Vladimir Malakhov, Sylvie Guillem, Nina Ananiashvili, Darcey Bussell, Wendy Whelan, Natalie Portman (lead actress of Blockbuster movie, Black Swan), Suri Cruise, the late Amy Winehouse, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Most recently, Chacott has expanded its product range and expertise to include fashion-forward, premium yoga wear in the Chacott Jazz Dance & Yoga Line, which I personally am very interested in. If you follow me on instagram (@reginachow_sg), you may have noticed that yoga is now an integral part of my life and I would definitely love to have the opportunity to try out Chacott’s yoga wear.

I have yet to share about my exercise routine or love for yoga on my blog, but if you are interested, I frequent Updog Studio at Grandstand for my weekly dose of hot yoga. Even as vast amounts of energy are expended during each hot yoga session, leaving me exhausted and spent, there’s something liberating yet stimulating about yoga that makes it so addictive. Words alone can’t express my fascination, hence I have been urging my friends to give it a try to find out for themselves.

Sorry for the slight digression. Now, let’s get back to Chacott, shall we?

Did you know that Chacott also has a wide range of make-up, under the Chacott for Professionals brand name? Originally created for the needs of the ballet stage, Chacott for Professionals has since gained popularity among stage performers, celebrities and professional make-up artists.

Made in Japan, the Chacott for Professionals makeup range is quality assured. The products are formulated for professional use and are resistant to sweat and liquids, which is perfect for Singapore’s humid weather.
You’ll also be happy to know that it is suited for HDTV and contains UV protection (non-chemical SPF/PA). It uses vegetable extract, natural colorants and is also fragrance-free, colour-free and mineral oil-free, which makes the entire range gentle to the skin and suitable even for children.

How does this range of make-up fare? I attended a make-up demonstration by Chacott at Rosebullet recently, which I will share in a separate post soon, so do stay tuned to this space for more updates.

Beauty Direct is the appointed official distributor and local representative for Chacott (ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, ballroom dance, jazz dance & yoga) and Chacott For Professionals.

Chacott For Professionals is presently available at Chacott Freed of London, SG,Plaza@Cosme 100AM, John Little Plaza Singapura.

Naoki Yoshihara by Ash: The Hair Care Salon Solutions Treatment by Shiseido

June 20, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

Naoki Yoshihara by Ash very kindly invited me to be the model for their new Hair Care Salon Solutions hair treatment by Shiseido when it was first launched. I was very thankful for the opportunity as my tresses were in dire need of pampering given my frequent colouring sessions.

I was also travelling pretty often for work during that period and was constantly exposed to hard water. Did you know that hard water is rich in minerals and causes your hair to be dry, rough and breakable? Well, I literally found out the hard way (pun unintended) when my hair became stringy and running my fingers through my locks became a near impossible task. Fortunately, things took a turn for the better after the hair treatment and the results were instantaneous, as you can see from the pictures above.
Before I begin my review, here are the products used for The Hair Care Salon Solutions Treatment:

What can you expect from The Hair Care Salon Solutions Treatment?
The first step of the treatment was to cleanse my scalp of impurities and dirt to prepare it for a proper detox later on. Whipping up a fluffy lather was essential for this purpose.

Next, it was time for deep cleansing and detox, but first, the stylists had to assess if my hair belonged to the high damage or low damage category and customize the treatment based on my hair condition. Travelling had taken a toll on my hair then and it naturally fell into the high damage category.
The purpose of detoxing is to thoroughly remove calcium ions and minerals that are present in the water we use to wash our hair. I was duly impressed as most hair treatments do not include this step, and this happened to be exactly what I needed after all that exposure to hard water!

Another interesting fact that I learned during the session was that steaming should only be done at the onset during the detox stage, before treatment solutions and repair agents (steps 2-4 below) are massaged into your hair.
The reason for this? Steaming opens up the pores and allows nutrients to be readily absorbed and sealed in. It is similar to facials, where we usually steam our faces at the beginning to open up our pores before extraction and mask application.
The application of the triple-layer micro-coating in Step 4 here is the equivalent of a hair mask. Mask application closes up your pores and locks
in all the nutrients. If you were to reverse the steps and leave steaming to the end, your pores will open up and all the nutrients will be gone.

What I liked about this treatment was that it tamed my hair instantly, leaving it soft, silky and almost beautiful enough for a shampoo ad. To prove my point, here’s my shiny, lustrous hair after the treatment, without any styling. The effects lasted about a week after, and the condition of my hair generally improved as well.

If you have badly damaged hair like me, perhaps you could consider trying this treatment to restore moisture and shine to your hair.

From now till 30th June, Naoki Yoshihara by Ash is offering a 30% discount to customers who are trying this treatment for the first time!

I was introduced to Tokyo Luxey earlier this year during a briefing session for bloggers conducted by CEO of Rouge Asia, Ms Chie Maeda and it really opened my eyes to the world of Japanese beauty products.
Established Japanese beauty brands such as Kose, Shiseido, SKII and the likes certainly need no introduction. However, beyond these globally renowned brand names lie a myriad of quality beauty and lifestyle brands that have made waves in the Japanese domestic market but are lesser known to the rest of the world.

With Tokyo Luxey, you will now be among the first outside of Japan to get your hands on these up and coming brands. All you have to do is sign up to be a Luxey!

    • Special invitations to Japan will be offered to individuals who are recognized for remarkable involvement or results as a LUXEY

For a start, here are some products that I received and would recommend to everyone. I have tried every single one of them myself and am currently still using some of these products in my daily routine. If you would like to know how you can get hold of these products, do read on for more details at the end of this post.

    1) Make It & Co Skincare Set

Make It & Co is an Japanese organic skincare brand that is manufactured in England. The set that I received included a washing oil, day moisturizer, night moisturizer and a hand cream. I have to admit that I was initially a little hesitant to try these products because organic skincare is known to cause breakouts in the initial phase, but thankfully, I eventually bit the bullet and used them for a period of about 3 weeks. Instead of a breakout, all I got was beautifully smooth, hydrated skin.
The star product of this series, in my opinion, is the Aroma Washing Oil. Organic soy oil, which forms the base, is combined with lavender, tea tree and citrus essential oils to gently cleanse your face and body. I used this as my facial wash for both day and night for the entire duration, and it is amazing how clean and hydrated my skin felt after each wash. There was no oily after feel at all. My skin felt soft, moisturized and thoroughly cleansed.

    2) Evangelist BB Cream

The Evangelist BB cream is an award winning “3D” BB cream that packs a punch. It is the No.1 BB cream for 2 consecutive years on leading Japanese beauty and cosmetics website, Cosme, with 2,000 – 3,000 bottles being sold every month.
Not only does it come with good coverage and sunscreen (SPF 31 PA++), it also includes skincare ingredients such as placenta and EGF to ensure that your skin is well taken care of.
What I like about this product is how incredibly lightweight it feels on your skin. I was told during the briefing that it is so light that you will even forget that you are wearing it, and I can now attest that this claim is absolutely true. Since this is an all-in-one product, you can also skip sunblock and foundation by applying this after your daily skincare routine. This is one item that I would definitely repurchase.

    3) Evangelist Skin Care Powder

The Skin Care Powder is another star product under the Evangelist umbrella. The first loose powder to incorporate placenta, EGF and sodium hyalauronate into its formula, it promises to impart a glow to your skin, accompanied by a velvety soft finish.
I like the powder puff that comes along with this product as it picks up just the right amount of powder and feels so luxuriously soft on your skin. As the powder is slightly glittery, it is splendid for dinner dates and special occasions as well.

    4) Kiraan! Metal Magic Liner

Kiraan! is a collaboration between twin celebrity models Amiaya, renowned Japanese cosmetics distributor Ohyama and Japanese retailer Plaza Japan. The Metal Magic Liner was the first product to be released under this brand and has been widely marketed in Japanese magazines such as Vivi, mina, Popteen and JJ, among others. There is a total of 5 different shades.
I received this glitter eyeliner in Pink Bird, a sweet candy pink shade that brightens up the eyes instantly. I typically use this at the inner corner of my eyes with neutral eyeshadow colours on weekends when I can afford to experiment with more colour.

    Talika Light Duo+

May 7, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments
I first chanced upon Talika Lipocils Eyelash Treatment Gel in my early 20s and it was and still is one of the best eyelash treatment gels that I have tried. My wonderful experience with Talika left me with a glowing impression of the brand till today. I wanted to learn more about the brand’s latest innovations and was excited to be a part of the Talika Light Duo+ product launch at Forlino.

Talika Light Duo+ is a revolutionary anti-aging beauty device that includes 3 different light wavelengths to target different skin issues, including dark spots, wrinkles and redness. With this powerful anti-aging multi-program light device, you can now say goodbye to the signs of aging in the comfort of your home.

I especially like the device’s smooth, sleek design. The buttons on the side blend in seamlessly and the handy size makes it a breeze to carry around when you travel overseas.
The device is also fitted with a timer and is activated automatically upon contact with the skin.

Now, I’ll share more about the three different functions. The device comprises 3 coloured lights, namely green, orange and red. Each colour has a different wavelength and is able to address different skin issues by regulating our epidermal and dermal cells.
The green light you see here specifically targets dark spots by regulating melanin production in 2 minutes per day. It has a wavelength of 525nm and is able to penetrate the epidermis layer, also known as the outer layer of your skin. In fact, results have shown that it is able to decrease the appearance of dark spots by 46% in 60 days! I am particularly interested in trying this function because I have very stubborn pigmentation on my upper cheeks.

The orange light on the other hand has a wavelength of 590nm and is able to penetrate the middle dermis to effectively combat wrinkles by reactivating collagen and elastin synthesis.

Finally, the red light has a wavelength of 630nm and is able to eliminate redness and soothe the skin.

Talika Light Duo+ also incorporates gentle vibrations during treatment to boost local microcirculation to improve intercellular communication. I tried the device on my hand and was pleasantly surprised that I hardly felt any discomfort. You can also use this with facial serums to boost the penetration rate and ensure that your skin reaps all the goodness of the ingredients.
All in all, Talika Light Duo+ promises radiant, glowing, younger-looking skin at the touch of your fingertips.
If you are interested in purchasing Talika Light Duo+, it retails for S$575 at all Talika counters at Metro.
Thanks to lovely Mag once again for inviting Karen and I to the event!

For more information on Talika, do visit their website and facebook page.

Naoki Yoshihara by Ash: Lavender Ash Hair

April 27, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments
Within the blink of an eye, Naoki Yoshihara by Ash has been my hair sponsor for about half a year now. I cannot be more grateful because I never fail to step out of the salon looking beautiful and feeling absolutely satisfied under Masa san’s meticulous care.
Whenever I feel that I need a pick-me-up for my
hair, I would pop by Naoki Yoshihara and let Masa-san wield his magic
    wand. I can always
trust Masa-san to make all the right decisions for my hair, and this
    time was no exception.
Naoki Yoshihara by Ash is almost like my second home now as I have gotten to know practically everyone there. I really like their warm and friendly service as well as the cozy decor.
    This
time, I decided a change in hair colour was just what I needed. I was getting bored of
my light brown hair for months and I wanted something darker, but
not the usual black and dark brown tones.
When Masa-san recommended one of Shiseido’s latest colours, Lavender Ash, as it would make my hair look shinier, I immediately nodded my head in agreement.

True enough, this Lavender Ash shade lent a glossy sheen to my locks and made my hair look glossier and healthier than ever. Needless to say, I love it to bits!

    5 Fun Facts About Sephora

April 14, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

I may not be a huge beauty junkie, but even I can’t resist entering a Sephora store whenever I pass it by. A haven for makeup lovers, its bright yet cozy shopfront looks so inviting, it beckons to passersby and lingers in the minds of beauty aficionados. Indeed, it is a fantastic one-stop
destination for all our grooming and beauty needs.

Founded in 1970 by Dominique Mandonnaud, the French beauty giant Sephora
started out as a perfumery, and has since expanded its line into a more
comprehensive one to include tools and products for HTT (that’s head-to-toe in
Tyra Banks speak) gorgeousness. The brand continues to be based in Paris,
though it has gone majorly international, with more than 1,700 stores in 27
    countries worldwide, including Singapore.

Now, here are 5 more fun facts about (practically) every girl’s favourite
    beauty store!

    1. The name Sephora was derived from the Greek word for beauty, sephos.
Combine that with the name Zipporah, the incredibly beautiful wife of Moses in
the book of Exodus, and you get Sephora.

    2. Sephora is touted as “the beauty authority”, as it aims to
provide the most comprehensive range of products and service to its
    customers.

Its “Science of Sephora” programme focuses on producing the
most knowledgeable and professional team of consultants in the beauty industry,
by making sure the team understands everything beauty-related, from the history
of makeup to application techniques, identifying skin types to skin physiology,
and the science of creating a fragrance. Phew! That was a mouthful. One thing’s for sure though, Sephora does not take shortcuts!
    3. Number crunching time! Sephora carries more than 17,000 products,
employs 25,000 employees (4,000 of whom work in the approximately 300 stores in
France), and receives about 6 million visitors yearly at its
Champs-Elysees flagship store. Wow, that’s more than the number of people who
    visit the Eiffel Tower annually!
    4. In 2013, Sephora collaborated with the Olsen twins to develop a
fragrance line, and with designer Marc Jacobs to create a makeup line.

Nirvana, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s first fragrance, has been
available at Sephora since December last year.

The collaboration with Marc Jacobs hit all Sephora stores in the
fall of 2013. This collection showcases products that enhance the three features
that the flamboyant designer pays most attention to: groomed brows, kissable
    lips and bright eyes.
Marc Jacobs looking immaculate, as always

    5. Since its establishment, Sephora has grown into a multi-label
chain store that offers a wide range of products from international labels as
well as its own private label. It carries trusted favourites like Bobbi Brown,
Clinique, Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, and Asian brands like Kose and Laneige.
If you think it’s hard to extricate yourself once you start shopping at Sephora, believe me, you are not alone. Nonetheless, we all deserve to indulge in a little pampering every once in a while. After all, it’s all in the name of personal grooming!

Vanity Trove: Get, Snap, Blingo! Project Launch Party

April 11, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

I had the pleasure of attending Vanity Trove’s Get, Snap, Blingo! Project Launch Party at Zouk recently, where Vanity Trove launched their first mobile app. Now, you can connect with beauty influencers and friends and share your beauty and fashion inspirations on the go!

Thankfully, I didn’t have work meetings in the day and could opt for a more casual, flutter-sleeve lace dress to fit the modern hippie chic theme that night. To complete the look, I threw on a flower head wreath upon arrival.

    It was amazing to
witness Zouk’s transformation into a beauty playground, with
hairstyling booths, nail booths and make-up counters to fulfill all your
beauty needs. It was a lady’s night to remember.

These are the partners that Vanity Trove tied up with to make this event possible:
     Reebonz
    Quincy by Far East Hospitality
    Kwerkee
    Nikon
    Asia Travel
    Benefit Cosmetics
    Loreal Professional
    Skin Inc
    Brands Innershine
    Gavio

    iFly
Aside from beauty services and products, we were also treated to a sumptuous spread of eggless cakes by Emicakes and premium soy ice-cream by Soyato.
Thanks to Vanity Trove, everyone who attended the party also got to bring home a goodie bag brimming with beauty products (including some full-sized ones too!). If you are interested to find out what I received, I might do a review of these products separately if time permits.
The beauty box concept is probably no stranger to many of us as its popularity in recent years has led to the mushrooming of beauty boxes all over the world.
Vanity Trove has come a long way since its inception in December 2011 and has expanded its reach by aggressively acquiring #1 beauty boxes in South East Asia, including Glossybox in Taiwan, Glamybox in Vietnam, Pambox in Thailand and start-ups which have yet to launch their beauty box business in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
Vanity Trove also launched the first personalized beauty box in South East Asia, where consumers like you and I get to choose samples based on our preferences. You can read more about my reviews on Vanity Trove’s beauty boxes here.
And if you are interested in interacting with like-minded beauty lovers and aficionados, remember to capture and share your beauty moments on Vanity Trove and discover more beauty inspirations along the way!

White Label Premium Placenta Elastic White Skin Essence

April 7, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

I have been told that my skin is
very dehydrated based on a skin analysis that I did recently, hence I
have been on the lookout for good serums to boost my hydration levels. Thanks to Beauty Direct, I had the opportunity to try out White Label Premium Placenta Elastic White Skin Essence,
which combines the properties of both essence and toner in one product.
As this works as a toner and essence, all you have to do is to apply it
using a cotton pad or directly onto your hands and then gently pat it
    into your skin. How convenient!

White Label Premium Placenta is a Japanese skincare range that uses 100% local placenta in its products to enhance the speed of skin renewal and to get to the root of skin problems such as freckles, dullness, wrinkles and dry skin.

    I have heard wonderful things
about the magical properties of placenta, which is the essence of the
organ that connects the fetus and the mother. Known to be rich in
anti-oxidants, proteins and amino acids, it packs a punch and is touted
to be the secret to having baby smooth skin.

The White Label Premium Placenta Essence has a lightweight texture and absorbs readily into your skin without leaving a sticky after feel. I especially love how my skin feels instantly plumped up and moisturized after use.

I have been using the essence all over my face to lock in moisture and protect my skin from dehydration before applying moisturizer. You can also use this on your neck where the signs of aging tend to be more prominent.

For those of you with sensitive skin, you will also be happy to know that this product is colourless, odourless and free of parabens, additives and mineral oil.
In comparison to skincare products that incorporate placenta as its key ingredient, the White Label Premium Placenta range is also incredibly affordable. In fact, the White Label Premium Placenta Elastic White Skin Essence retails at just S$14.90.
If you are interested in trying White Label Premium Placenta products, you can find the entire range at Beauty Direct, BHG, John Little, Guardian, Nishino Pharmacy and Plaza@Cosme100AM.

VENDOR Satisfaction Guaranteed: Shopping for Japanese Products in Singapore with Vending Machines!

March 21, 2014 by Regina Chow No Comments

I have always had a fascination with the vending machines in Japan as you can buy practically anything and everything (not just beverages!) with the touch of a button. For years, I was wondering if this interesting shopping concept would ever be adopted in Singapore and now, I’m happy to report that it is finally here!
Japanese retail company, Satisfaction Guaranteed, launched its state-of-the-art  digital vending machines just last month, giving us immediate access to an exclusive and diverse mix of Japanese fashion, cosmetics and lifestyle products without having to fly all the way to Japan! In fact, Singapore is the first and only country outside of Japan to have intelligent digital vending machines like these.

Founded by Mr Shunsuke Sato in 2007, Satisfaction Guaranteed began as a fashion label and is well-known in Japan for having the largest number of fans on Facebook, with over 5 million supporters in over 30 countries. Mr Sato then set up Satisfaction Guaranteed Pte Ltd in Singapore in 2010  to introduce a variety of Japanese brands and products to overseas markets.

Thanks to Satisfaction Guaranteed, consumers like you and me can now take your pick from a specially curated
selection of 29 products from 16 companies, including Japanese lucky
charms, nail polish, nail wraps, recyclable bags and a whole range of
    other Japanese goodies.

I was particularly interested in the nail wraps, glitter nail polish and hair chalk. In case you were wondering, those little pots of green, red and orange hues are hair chalk and not make-up products. I love how versatile these products are as you can easily transform your look instantly.

These colourful good luck charms and specialty Japanese products are produced by Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, a Japanese handicraft and souvenior shop with over 300 years of history.
These good luck charms, known as Daruma, come in different colours as each colour represents a different blessing. Red represents family peace and well-being, yellow represents wealth, white is for good health, purple for luck and happiness and finally green for academic success.

All these products can be viewed on the vending machine’s digital touch screen. A simple tap on the screen will reveal more information about each product.

I got to try out the vending machine during the launch last month and decided to take this floral nail wrap design from VlliVlli home with me. VlliVlli nail wraps can be found in Laforet Harajuku, Shibuya 109 and Plaza Minipla in Tokyo. Now, 10 of their popular designs are available in Singapore through VENDOR Satisfaction Guaranteed.

    These vending
machines are now available at The Cathay, Liang Court and 100AM.
All the items are priced at either S$10 or S$12 each, which is pretty reasonable for quality products that are made in Japan.
    Happy Shopping!
