ClubCouture Photoshoot

March 15, 2011 by Regina Chow 4 Comments

Remember I blogged about being a ClubCouture Ambassador for 2011?

Now here’s what you’ve all been waiting for – the behind the scenes photos of our photoshoot!

ClubCouture organized a photoshoot for all their ambassadors early this year. Thanks to ClubCouture for being so accommodating, I was fortunate to have been able to do this shoot together with my dear friend Jolene!

We arrived bright and early on a Sunday morning at the studio to have our make-up and hair done before the shoot. Within the blink of an eye and a touch of the make-up artist’s magic wand, we were instantly transformed into glamour girls.

And then, it was time for us to get down to work! Besides posing for my daily outfit shots and my blogshop, the last time I actually did a professional shoot was when I was part-timing during the summer holidays in school.

Imagine my trepidation when I was told to do high-fashion poses with various props! I could only look on in envy at some of the other ambassadors who posed effortlessly for the camera with such poise and finesse. Posing was practically second nature to them. Boy do I need to pick up some skills from the experts.

After some effort, here are my final shots:

Jolene and I paired up for this photo. Check out Jo’s toned, silky smooth legs!

My individual shots:

The Red Structured Halter Dress is a gorgeous bare-back cocktail dress that adds a delightful pop of colour to the sea of little black dresses at parties. It is, unfortunately, already sold out on ClubCouture.

Nonetheless, fret not, for this beauty comes in timeless black too.

My second outfit was a sexy bodycon black dress. It accentuates the female silhouette without compromising on style and is the perfect little black dress to hit the clubs!

Check out ClubCouture’s New Arrivals and their latest collection, City Lights!

There’s also a special discount exclusively for my lovely readers! Enter the code “REGINA2011” when you checkout to enjoy 15% off all purchases!

Time to go shopping!

TCC & Ribbons Galore

March 13, 2011 by Regina Chow 2 Comments
One of my favourite haunts for comfort food is TCC, especially its outlet at International Building. I love the outlet’s neo-classical decor, immaculate service and delicious food. The fact that the service staff are always attentive without being intrusive is absolutely commendable.

I also like the al fresco dining area here, which is an excellent spot for people-watching while enjoying the night breeze.

Here’s what I wore for a casual dinner at TCC.

It is no secret that I have a penchant for ribbons, so here you have it, an overdose of ribbons all over.

Top: Budget find at S$15 from Far East Plaza (FEP)

Ribbon Shorts: An old pair which I also got from FEP

Ribbon Wedges: Mitju (I’ve had this for years!)

Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (last season’s)

Fifi Lapin Necklace: Fayfey.livejournal.com

I need help!

March 12, 2011 by Regina Chow 2 Comments

I don’t know what’s happening but I can’t see any of my photos on my blog and on photobucket. I’ve tried both Firefox and IE. Strangely, I’m able to do so on my blackberry.

Does anyone know what’s going on?

Sock Shopping

March 9, 2011 by Regina Chow No Comments
I had this sudden impetus to buy socks and tights after seeing them on so many fashionistas on chictopia and my blogroll.

It didn’t help that I was ill and felt the need for some retail therapy to feel better.

So off I went to ASOS to get me some socks.

Floral Blues

March 8, 2011 by Regina Chow 4 Comments
I’m a pastel blue convert. It is refreshing without coming across as being overly sweet, especially when other elements such as crotchet lace, floral prints and bows come into play.

Toga Top: Mango (a few seasons back)

Floral Shorts: Deye, Nex Mall

Shoes: Mondo

Hairband: Birthday gift from Jo & Karen

The Flea Market & Old Town White Coffee

March 7, 2011 by Regina Chow 2 Comments
I had a great time catching up with Shihui during the flea market at the Singapore Flyer last week. The official opening hours were from 2pm-8pm but we wanted to get rid of everything earlier on in the day so everything was priced at either S$5 or S$2 at the onset.

I brought 3 luggages filled with clothes to sell at the flea and was happy that I managed to clear 1 luggage within 4 hours. Shihui left after 3 hours and she managed to sell a relatively huge portion of her clothes too.

Despite the lack of traffic at the flyer, I was very thankful that we had a steady stream of customers throughout the 3-4 hours that we were there. In fact, we were so busy attending to customers that I totally forgot to take photos!

I was very touched that some readers came all the way down just to support my stall. Here’s a big thank you to those of you who came down! You know who you are! 🙂

After the flea market, we went to Old Town White Coffee for dinner to reward ourselves for our hard work. I had the chicken rendang, which was splendid thanks to its tasty chilli paste. I used to order only Ipoh Horfun every time I went there as that’s supposedly the cafe’s specialty, but the chicken rendang here is very yummy too! JW had the Hainanese pork chop rice, which, according to him, was only average.

Old Town White Coffee originated from Malaysia but its outlets have mushroomed all over our sunny island. There are now 9 outlets in Singapore, so if you haven’t tried it, you can easily pop by any of their outlets in town or in your neighbourhood. 😉

Now it’s time for me to go sleep off my flu. Have a good week ahead!

Pastel Palette

March 5, 2011 by Regina Chow 4 Comments
Chictopia has been my source of inspiration lately and I’ve been following some fashionistas for my daily dose of fashion. I’m currently hooked on to Mellow Mayoness. She coordinates colours (especially pastels) and prints so effortlessly it’s practically a breeze for her!

And now, here’s my take on pastels. I never thought that candy colours like pastel green and pastel pink would go well together.

I got the top from Far East Plaza eons ago and the skirt was a one-off piece from a Korean shop called The Dress at the second floor of Far East Plaza.

I paired the outfit with cute pastle green ribbon peeptoes from Mondo (which was a steal at only $23.90!), and my new vintage Aigner straw bag from Dustbunny Vintage.

Games Night

March 4, 2011 by Regina Chow 4 Comments
Ever since we played Taboo last Christmas, Karen, Jolene and I have been thinking of organizing another games night to relive the fun that we had. The original plan was to head down to Sushi’s place as I’ve not seen her since Leo’s first month! Alas, Sushi wasn’t home that day so we popped over to Karen’s place for games instead.

Before games, we had an unhealthy but absolutely delicious dinner at Tonkichi with fried pork fillet and pork loin. This is my favourite restaurant for deep fried Japanese pork. Every slice is covered in a light batter and fried to perfection, without any hint of oiliness. If you haven’t tried Tonkichi, you should! There’re outlets at Suntec, Takashimaya, Tampines Mall and Shaw Centre (Lido).

Karen prepared creme brulee for dessert at her place (her first time!), but the bottle of butane gas she had didn’t fit the chef’s torch and she wasn’t able to caramelize the sugar coating on top. That was when Ethan came to the rescue by cleverly improvising on the spot with existing tools. Check out the flame below! Poor Ethan burnt off the hair on one of his fingers while he was at it. Thankfully, his efforts were not futile, for at least we got to savour the yummy final product eventually!

While Ethan was busy in the kitchen, JW was busy arranging all the photos in the living room to ensure that they were perfectly aligned. He does that at home too and without fail, I would always tease him about his obsessive compulsive disorder! He expects every picture to be straight and evenly spaced.

Whatever it is, having two men doing housework at the same time while the ladies watched on in amusement was indeed a rare sight.

Then, it was on to games. Karen and Ethan were great hosts. We had tea, lychee martini and a wide selection of snacks to quench our thirst and satiate our hunger (we are always hungry!) while we played Pictureka, Cluedo, followed by Monopoly. Silly me forgot to bring my Monopoly Deal cards so we had to make do with the board game. Pictureka is quite a hilarious game as everything is contestable. Cluedo on the other hand is pretty intellectual while Monopoly is really just a game of luck.

We paired up for Monopoly. Thanks to JW’s greed, we both lost terribly, as you can see from the 3 miserable dollars that we had at the end of the game. The games carried on for hours and we only called it a night at 5am!

Mankind’s Birthday

March 4, 2011 by Regina Chow No Comments
On the last day of CNY, which is also known as 人日 (otherwise also known as mankind’s birthday), JW and I met Karen and Jolene at Crystal Jade to celebrate our birthdays together!
What’s a birthday celebration without a feast complete with 鱼生? And so a feast with 鱼生 was what we had. As you can see, we had a massive spread for 4 petite people. There was so much food on the table that we attracted nothing but stares and looks of bewilderment from everyone else!

This is also the last time that you’ll see me with long hair, so watch this space for photos of my new hairdo!
